It goes on and on and on and on.....

So, after the shocking Gray's Anatomy style diagnosis of "child" - sadly, we did not go onto hiatus for the rest of the summer, rather, we went to work.

And then, that Friday, what did we do? That's right, went to Indy for the weekend for my mom's birthday, where Jess got to hone her now needed fake drinking skills. The water in a Bud Light bottle carried the day.

We laughed and laughed about how good Jess was feeling and how she couldn't be pregnant on the drive down to Indy.

Then Monday morning she threw up in the shower. This is pretty much what happened for the next 3 weeks.

The following Friday, October 3rd, we went in for an ultra sound....we were told not to expect to hear a heartbeat yet. However, that prediction was wrong, as we heard the heartbeat that day. Talk about another step towards feeling "real." Wow.

At that point, the baby was the size of the Blueberry. Hence, the in utero name.

We actually had picked out the name "Maybe," but for some reason it wasn't sticking. We figured we'd go with Maybe for a couple reasons. One, we're not learning the sex of the baby, so it "may be" a boy or it "may be" a girl. Second, we found out that Jess' due date is May 25, so it's a May baby (I'll give you a second......waiting......waiting......look at it again......there we are). Third, the obvious Arrested Development reference (for the three of you reading who watched.

But, like I said, we started going with blueberry and it seemed more organic (pun intended) than forced, so that's what it is. We're well aware that blueberry is going to be a heck of alot bigger than a blueberry in the end, thus we should probably consider the name Violet Beauregarde.

Probably good you chose blueberry over Maybe... Don't get me wrong, I love Maybe from AD... I'm just not sure if you really want to picture blueberry kissing his/her cousin.
