The Burtnetts Go To Kansas City

The Burtnetts went to KC to see my parents and celebrate Labor Day weekend. In order to get there, we flew. Yes, Justin and I took Lucy on her first plane ride. She did AWESOME!!! The flight out there wasn't full, so we were able to bring her car seat on the flight. She hung out the majority of the time in her car seat, smiling, giggling and eating. She didn't make a peep, and we even got compliments.
While in KC we did a lot of hanging out. Lucy got to meet her first uncle, Uncle Jim.

Saturday was all football all day. Even though K-State's game wasn't on TV, Lucy supported the Wildcats. Go State! (Doesn't she look so happy?) Special thanks to the Marxen for the onesie!!

On Sunday, we headed down to Crown Center for Irish Fest.

Then came the plane ride home on Monday. Due to my inadvertent ingestion of diary, Lucy was formula fed most of the weekend. Let's just say that formula poo is a bit different than regular poo (something I'm sure you all wanted to know). We were introduced to the difference a few times over the weekend, but none quite as memorable as the two on Monday afternoon. When we arrived at the airport, we were introduced to poo #1 which required a change of clothes along with a change of diaper. We were not smart parents and checked the luggage with Lucy's clothes. So, we had to use a spit-up full onesie from Friday as a last minute outfit. That was, of course, until we were introduced to poo #2 on the plane. This poo also required a change of clothes, but we didn't have any!! So, Lucy ended up in a hoody, diapers and socks. Ahh...our little white trash baby.

Other than the poo, Lucy was great on the flight home too. She didn't enjoy the decent into Midway, but that went fast and she fell asleep as soon as the plane landed. In all, it was a WONDERFUL trip.
